Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Policy applies to the Currency Converter mobile application distributed on the Apple App Store, including features such as exchange-rate conversion, shopping calculations, time-zone comparison, size guidance, settings, and optional Pro subscriptions or in-app purchases.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of information:
- Device and system information. Information provided by Apple’s operating system that is needed for basic functionality (for example, device locale/region to suggest a default currency, preferred language for localization, and display settings such as light/dark appearance).
- App preferences stored on your device. Settings you choose—such as selected currencies, base currency, decimal places, theme preference, shopping calculator preferences, time-zone cities, and size-guide selections—are stored locally on your device (for example via UserDefaults or similar on-device storage).
- Purchase and subscription status. If you buy Pro access, Apple processes the payment. We receive purchase/entitlement signals through Apple’s StoreKit frameworks (for example, product identifiers and whether a subscription or lifetime purchase is active). We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Network requests for exchange-rate data. When the App refreshes rates, your device connects to our rate data endpoint to download currency rate information. Standard technical logs on the server side may include IP address, timestamps, and user-agent information typical of HTTPS requests.
- Support communications. If you contact us by email (for example for feedback), we receive the content of your message and any information you voluntarily include (such as device model or app version).
We do not require you to create an account to use the core features of the App.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location for core conversion features.
- We do not provide brokerage, banking, or investment services, and we do not collect financial account credentials.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs to track you across apps for advertising in the current version described by this Policy.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide currency conversion, shopping calculations, time-zone tools, and size guidance;
- Remember your preferences and improve on-device experience;
- Deliver and validate Pro purchases and subscriptions;
- Update exchange-rate data and maintain App reliability and security;
- Respond to support requests and comply with applicable law.
5. Exchange-Rate and Content Disclaimer
Exchange rates and related calculations are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. They may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. The App does not execute currency trades and does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Always verify critical amounts with your bank or a licensed provider.
6. Data Storage and Retention
- On-device data. Preferences and lists you configure generally remain on your device until you delete the App or clear App data.
- Purchase records. Apple retains purchase history associated with your Apple ID according to Apple’s policies. Entitlement checks may occur on your device via StoreKit.
- Support emails. We retain support correspondence as long as needed to resolve your request and for legitimate business or legal purposes.
- Server logs. Routine technical logs, if any, are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, debugging, and operations.
7. Sharing of Information
We may share information only in these limited situations:
- Apple. Payments, subscriptions, restore purchases, and App Store distribution are handled by Apple. Apple’s privacy practices apply to those services; see Apple’s Privacy Policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Service providers. We may use infrastructure providers to host rate data or websites. They may process technical request data solely to provide those services.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers.
8. International Processing
Depending on where you are located and where our servers or service providers operate, information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take reasonable steps to handle information in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Your Choices and Rights
- You can change or delete many preferences inside the App.
- You can uninstall the App to remove on-device App data from your device.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID / App Store account settings.
- You may contact us to ask questions about this Policy. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the App (including HTTPS for network requests). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may link to Apple system pages (for example, subscription management or standard EULA pages) or our own web pages. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
